About Me/Treatment Philosophy

"The least of things with a meaning is worth more in life than the greatest of things without it." - C.G. Jung

My approach is influenced by both Jungian Depth Psychotherapy and a family systems perspective. I am passionate about creating a collaborative and honest environment, where the therapeutic relationship is regarded as sacred and healing.

As a depth oriented psychotherapist, I believe people have an inner capacity to heal and that therapy can provide an opportunity to explore who you are, gain insight, and develop new ways of caring about yourself and relating to the world. We will work together to understand and examine your inner world so you can move toward psychological balance and wholeness. I encourage people to bring in dreams, journals, and an expectation to work together toward relief, healing, and meaning.

In working with eating disorders, I utilize an integrated approach, working primarily from a depth perspective and incorporating cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies when appropriate. I believe in working with a treatment team and will provide referrals for medical doctors and registered dietitians.

I believe each person is unique and therefore treatment is individualized to meet your specific needs. Sessions occur typically on a weekly basis, although some people will come more or less depending on their unique situation.
